The 2005 game was the first to have alliances consist of three teams instead of two. The objective of the game was to place Tetras in or on top of a goal. There were nine Goals, arranged in a three by three grid. Each Tetra in the Goal was worth one point, and each Tetra on top of the Goal was worth three. If an alliance had Tetras on three Goals in a row, the alliance would receive ten extra points. If all three robots were in their designated End Zone at the end of the match, the alliance would receive another ten points.
