In 2009, the game required alliances to score Goals with Soccer Balls. The robots could score in one of two goals for their alliance. Each ball scored was worth one point. More Balls would be added to the field by the human player using the Ball Return Rack, there was also a Tower for robots to climb at the end of the match. Points could be earned if a robot was completely off of the ground at the end of a match. Two points would be earned if the robot did so by itself, and three points would be given to a team that could help another robot into the air.
